Some publicity for our Orchid Society's Annual Orchid Display this weekend, 24-26 May 2013, at the Sherwood Garden Centre in Port Elizabeth. Entry is just R5 and there are orchid potting demonstrations, as well as corsages and orchid plant sales together with various orchid growing sundries like potting mix and fertilisers, along with a tea room to quench that inevitable thirst! I'm not sure if we'll make it as our weekend schedule is looking pretty full, but if we do, expect a follow-up post with pictures.

Hope you were able to get some photos at the show, James. As to Paphs, I don't have a lot of them but the best advice I've gotten was to use a fertilizer low in potassium and higher in calcium and magnesium. I use a fertilizer now called K-lite and it has made a dramatic difference in growth, blooming and leaf color.

ReplyDeleteI'm using MSU at pretty low dosages, and it seems to be working OK for me across all the plants. :)
